What to expect
WHERE?
I am based in Ely in Cambridgeshire. I offer therapy sessions over zoom or in person at my home in Ely.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A THERAPY SESSION?
Sessions are relaxed, calm and led by your needs. Our first session will include an in-depth assessment of your needs and goals from therapy and can be 60-90 minutes.
Subsequent sessions are sixty minutes long. They are usually a mix of talking, hypnotherapy, education, take away tasks and practical strategies to support you to build your own toolkit of methods you can use to support yourself as you move forward. I work in a very collaborative way and I will be helping you work towards your therapy goal.
I will often ask for feedback to ensure the sessions are working for you. Not all interventions and techniques work for everyone - and in fact, we learn the most from the interventions that do not work so don't be afraid to said if something doesn't feel right for you. I use your feedback to ensure we're working in manner that serves you.
HOW MANY SESSIONS?
The number of sessions you require will depend on the changes you want to make in your life. Making a positive change in your life doesn't happen overnight but if you are committed this type of therapy generates positive results in a much shorter period than many other psychotherapeutic methods. During our initial session I can get a feel for the changes you want to make and if you would like we can agree on an initial number of sessions to work towards your goal, although I also work longer term with some clients too.
FACE TO FACE THERAPY OR ONLINE THERAPY?
This is completely your choice, there is no difference in the service I offer you whether we work together in person or via zoom. In person sessions happen at my home in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
